Police Officers from Teesside are tackling the distance between the United Kingdom and Afghanistan to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Police Benevolent Fund.The 5 Stockton officers will run and row the 5,632km over a 12 week period and are hoping to raise a substantial sum of money for the two charities. The challenge will start on Friday 19th February 2010 at the Total Fitness Gym in Stockton when the Chief Constable Sean Price will be officially launching the event by running the first kilometer.
Commenting on the challenge the officers have set themselves the Chief Constable of Cleveland Police, Sean Price said: “I am very proud of the task that these officers are undertaking. They are showing incredible determination and commitment to putting people first and raising money for two very worthwhile charities. I am really happy to help them launch their campaign and wish them all the very best in their endeavours
